Intuit Halves Research Price for Tax Season E-mail

intuit logo newIntuit is offering a steep discount on its tax research line for Lacerte and ProSeries. The company has chopped more than half the cost of the product, whose unlimited annual subscription is usually $849, through April 15.

The tax season special price is $399 while the company's website is promoting a $449 price. However, a spokesperson said that leads to information about the $399 rate when the visitor clicks for information.Once known as Intuit ProLine Research, the product line is now more closely associated with the two tax preparation software applications.The research tool is now marketed under the names ProSeries Tax Research and Lacerte Tax Research. Intuit introduced the ProLine brand two years ago, intending to extend it over its professional product line. However, in the last few months, the company started phasing it out. One of the few places in which the name is still used is on the Intuit ProLine Facebook page.

Both research editions utilize content from BNA. Also, in the last few months, Intuit dropped its original search engine in favor of Google search.

The unlimited annual subscription special offer is $669. Pay per use is still priced at $19.95
