Intuit has begun development of a mobile application for its web-based tax application, which is expected to enter a formal test during extension season. And the name of the product, TaxOnline, suggests Intuit as taken a step away from its plans to spread its ProLine brand across professional tax and accounting applications.
While Intuit has a number of mobile apps for its small business lineup, it hasn't brought to market mobile apps for professional accounting firm use. The small business applications, also used by professionals, include GoPayments, which enables businesses to process credit card payments via the iPhone, iPad and the Android Platform. It also has QuickBooks Online for iPhone and Android while Intuit Online Payroll is available for the iPhone.
