Continuing education provider Smart Pros turned in results for its first quarter ended March 31 that showed both revenue and its net loss virtually unchanged from results in 2011. The company said lingering results from the recession and competitive factors kept a lid of its business.
The net loss for the most recently ended period was $423,239, slightly more than $6,000 less than it lost in last year's corresponding period. Revenue of $3 million was $56,000 less than the amount a year earlier. The company said revenue from core subscription products remained constant while income from custom work continued to decline
Smart Pros also cited an industry-wide slow down in attendance for live training. The company said it continues to seek new business and to cut expenses and staff where appropriate.
