BDO Sells Software Group

JopOpsBDO Seidman has sold its Synergistic Software Solutions operations and the manufacturing software that unit has marketed to a private equity investment group. Anania & Associates of Windham, Maine, has purchased Synergistic and the JobOps application that is marketed to users of Sage 100 ERP accounting software.

While the company has yet issued a press release on the subject, the sale was outlined to the about 50 resellers of the software by Synergistic's general manager, Ryan Rick. Rick wrote to resellers that the sale "means there is a new surge of energy and life to the JobOps product you have worked with for years." Rick and most of the staff will the Anania-owned operations.

Remaining with the accounting firm are partner Chuck Wunderlich, who has led the JobOps effort for years. Also staying are Monte McNally in IT and Traci Portwood, an administrative person.

As outlined on its website, Anania typically buys, grows and then sells its portfolio companies. Although it has no defined period for holding these properties, the company states there is a a "strong likelihood of an exit within a 5-7 year period."
