FreshBooks Redesigned

Mike McDerment, FreshBooksFreshBooks, the online accounting application, has been redesigned with a summer release scheduled for the new version, according to a letter by CEO and co-founder Mike McDerment. McDerment said the update is needed to enable the company to meet its goal of serving self-employed professionals and their teams.

The result will be "a product that's easier to use, evolves faster and makes working with clients and teams easier," McDerment wrote. The work to re-write the package is still underway.

While he said the monthly price of the software not change, there will be new capabilities and "you may choose to pay more to use some of those new capabilities based on the value they bring," he wrote.

The company released a redesigned iOS app in January, which McDerment said speeded up mobile processing and added the ability to accept credit card payments. He promised additional mobile capabilities are coming.
