Xero Intros TaxTouch

Jamie Sutherland, Xero Xero has introduced TaxTouch, an income and tax-tracking mobile application for freelance workers. Designed for those who submit Schedule C with their tax returns the app can separate expenses by swiping right for business or left for personal ones. It is initially available on the iOS platform with an Android version to follow.

"It's a very easy way for these individuals to track expenses," says Jamie Sutherland, general manager of Xero North America. Xero says three-quarters of these self-employed workers do not use an accountant. Many do not realize they need to pay taxes, the company has found.

A report detailing Schedule C data can be downloaded to share data with individuals such as accountants.

Xero is working with H&R Block, Shopify, Stride Health, and FreshDesk, to help distribute the product to their freelance customers. It is priced at $5.99 per month, or $29.99 for the first year and is now available for download on iOS from the App Store.
