Acumatica Signs Marcum Technology

Acumatica has signed Marcum Technology as a Value-added Reseller. Marcum made the announcement at Acumatica's recent Summit 2020 conference,

Marcum Technology, which has about 65 employees, has built its reseller business  with the acquisition of Raffa at the end of 2018. In its last submission for Bob Scott’s Top 100 VARs for 2018, Raffa said it had 24 employees and $6.7 million in revenue in its ERP business. The product line also features Dynamics 365 Business Central, Jamis Prime and Sage Intacct, giving the unit three cloud financial applications.

The product line now includes three cloud account applications. Having the three is important in Marcum’s emphasis on expanding its application business. “We are now expanding what we are doing on the ERP side to expand beyond the nonprofits which was what Raffa was all about,” Glenn Anstead said at Acumatica’s recent Summit 2020. Anstead is a partner with Marcum’s managed service, financial systems practice.

The targets for the three cloud products are fairly standard. Intacct is aimed at nonprofits and healthcare and has a reputation for strong financials. Acumatica’s strengths include manufacturing. Business Central plays well with prospects who want to buy Microsoft,, including SL customers who want to migrate to a Microsoft platform and those who want Microsoft’s integrated products built on Azure.

Anstead also cited two other areas for Acumatica. “The big areas of focus we are going to look into are  the construction and the cannabis spaces where we have incredibly deep expertise,” he said. SL customers, however, also feel comfortable with Acumatica. which grew out of the former Solomon’s Southeast Asia operations. Like SL, Acumatica has strength in project accounting.
