AICPA Seeks CPA Exam Feedback

The American Institute of CPAs is seeking feedback on content in the new Core and Disciplines CPA Examination structure. This represents the next step in in the CPA Examination Practice Analysis to determine knowledge and skills newly licensed CPAS need.

Feedback is sought on preliminary content through September 7 via an online survey and is expected to help guide development of the new CPA Exam blueprints and Exam design, which will available via an Exposure Draft, planned for July 2022. The exam is expected to launch in January 2024.

The endeavor is being conducted under CPA Evolution, a joint initiative by the AICPA and the National Association of State Boards of Accounting. Under that model, candidates must take three Core sections that will assess the knowledge and skills that are needed in Accounting, Auditing & Attestation,  and Taxation incorporating the following disciplines: Business Analysis and Reporting, Information Systems and Control and Tax Compliance and Planning.
