Intuit’s Smith Handing CEO Job to Goodarzi

Sasan Goodarzi, IntuitBrad Smith who has held the job of CEO of Intuit since January 2008, will retire at the end of the year. He will be replaced on January 1 by Sasan Goodarzi, EVP and GM of Intuit’s Small Business and Self-Employed Group.

Chief technology officer Tayloe Stansbury will also leave the company on January 1 and will be succeeded  by Marianna Tessel, SVP and chief product development officer for the group Goodarzi has overseen. It has been clear for sometime the company was evaluating a successor. In May 2016, Goodarzi and Dan Wernikoff switched jobs with Goodarzi moving into the small business job and Wernikoff taking on Goodarzi’s previous role as EVP and GM in TurboTax. The company signaled the likelihood a decision had been made when it Wernikoff a strategic advisor to Smith earlier this month.
