QBO Roles Changing

Intuit is updating user roles QuickBooks Online Essentials, Plus, and/or Advanced in May. The software company said QBO Accountant roles will not be affected.

QBO will have a new Bookkeeper role while QBO Advanced will add a CEO and CFO role. More details will be made available when the roles are added.

In addition, Intuit is also changing some existing roles. Standard limited customers only role will be changed to Accounts Receivable Manager, with users gaining additional access to record bank deposits and submit expense claims,

The Standard limited vendors only role becomes the role Accounts Receivable Manager. Users will be eligible to be designated as approver for bills when setting up approval workflows in QBO Advanced and QB Bill Pay Elite.

The standard all access without payroll role becomes In House Accountant, with such users eligible to be designated as approvers for bills when setting up approval workflows in QBO Advanced or with QB Bill Pay Elite.

The roles being discontinued in QBO are Standard no access, which Intuit says has been removed because of redundancy to the Time tracking role and the Standard limited customer and vendor role, to be replaced soon by the Bookkeeper role.
