TurboTax Prep Expands

Intuit has enabled tax returns to be prepared through Credit Karma and QuickBooks Online and filed through TurboTax.

TurboTax will be able to access a filer’s personal and financial data in Credit Karma and QuickBooks.

The software company said this week Credit Karma members who did not file their federal and state income taxes via TurboTax last year can do so this year at no cost.

Intuit said eligible members have the option to get faster access to cash during tax season and receive recommendations on using their refunds.

TurboTax integration enables taxpayers to access refunds up to five days early when the deposit it into a Credit Karma Money account. Those who qualify can receive a Refund Advance loan after the IRS accepts their returns.

Taxpayers can prepare their own taxes via the Intuit products, connect to tax experts from within the applications for some guidance, or hand off the work to professional preparers.

QBO is also offering services for small business, including QB Live Full-service Tax which enables S-Corps, multi-member LLCs, and partnerships can fully hand off their business taxes to professionals. QB Live Assisted Tax does the same for sole proprietors and single-member LLCs filing a Schedule C (Form 1040).
