A federal court in New Orleans has barred a La Place, La., woman from preparing federal income tax returns for others. The preparer, Also known as Shawanda Bryant, Shawanda Hawkins and Shawanda Johnson, Nevers prepared returns at named 3LJ's Industrial Service Solutions. The phony information was often entered into customers' returns without their knowledge.
The returns Nevers prepared instructed the Internal Revenue Service to deposit refunds from her accounts. She would then deduct a fee before sending the balance of the refunds to clients.
