The results were higher than the 5-percent to 7-percent growth range Intuit had anticipated.The total number of TurboTax Units hit 30.2 million for the season through April 16, with just over one million of those units in the TurboTax Free File Alliance, which continued its decline of recent year, falling by 11 percent over the same period last year.
There were slightly fewer than 23.8 million online federal units sold while the number of desktop units fell by 6 percent to 5.4 million.
