A Louisiana preparer has pleaded guilty to four counts of preparing fraudulent tax returns. Nevers aka Shawanda Hawkins, Shawanda Bryant and Shawanda Johnson, operated several businesses in the LaPlace, La., area, including 3LJ's Café Services & Sports Bar and 3LJ's Industrial Service Solutions.
She pleaded guilty to utilizing business losses and deductions and tax credits to which her clients were not entitled. Nevers admitted owing $6,934,764 in restitution to the IRS along with $128,900 to the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill Trust and $964 to the Social Security Administration
Nevers faces a statutory maximum sentence of three years in prison on each count, as well as a period of supervised release, restitution and monetary penalties.
