Tax Court Lists Cancelled Sessions

 tax courtThe United States Tax Court, which shut down operations on December 28, has listed trial sessions it has cancelled. The court this week also outlined what taxpayers can do to find out about rescheduling trials and about bills received for amounts subject to dispute in the court.

The court cancelled sessions for January 28 in El Paso, Texas; Los Angeles, Calif.; New York, N.Y.; Philadelphia, Pa.; San Diego, Calif.; and Lubbock, Texas; on February 4, in Hartford, Conn.; Houston, Texas; San Francisco, Calif.; Seattle, Wash.; St. Paul, Minn.; Washington, D.C.; and Winston-Salem, N.C.; and on February 11 in Detroit, Mich.; Los Angeles, Calif.; New York, N.Y.; San Diego, Calif.; and Mobile, Ala.

A decision regarding the February  trial sessions will be made on or before February 7.

The court noted eFiling and eAccess services are open while taxpayers can comply with deadlines petition or notice of appeal to the Court. Timeliness is determined by U.S. postmarks or delivery certificates from private services.
