Available on IRS.gov the tool is useful to those who don't normally file a federal tax return and have not yet filed either a 2019 or 2020 return. The IRS says use of the tool can help users decide if they should register for the credit payments by using the Non-filer Sign-up Tool, or file a regular tax return using the IRS Free File system.
Materials in several languages and other multi-lingual resources will be released in the future. Materials in English and other languages are e posted on a special Advance Child Tax Credit 2021 page at IRS.gov/childtaxcredit2021.
