The IRS is under pressure from a colation of companies and associations to suspend some regulatory activities and apply resources to reducing the backlog of 2021 returns and providing more communication this year.
The IRS website shows which centers will be open. Sixteen states will have only one center open on February 12, generally in the most populous. Locations have not been added for the other dates. A Washington D.C. office will also open. There will be two or more offices operating in five states.
Taxpayers can receive walk-in help, but the TACs will not accept cash payments on Saturdays.
No centers are open on February 12 in Arkansas, Alaska, Colorado, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
