The United States edition of Wave Payroll from Wave Accounting is designed for business with fewer than 10 employees. Available for all 50 states, the online system enables businesses to pay employees via check or choose direct deposit at no extra charge. The application can manage federal, state and local payroll taxes without the need to consult a payroll calculator. It handles vacation time, including the option to pay vacation hours on each check, or to accrue the vacation hours worked for another date. Payroll deductions and benefits can be assigned to each employee on a one-time or recurring basis.

There is a self-service portal via which employees can maintain their contact information and retrieve pay stubs and other documents.
