CCH Small Firm Services has joined with eFileCabinet to create a portal that integrates with its ATX and TaxWise tax preparation products. Developed by eFileCabinet, the new product, PortalSafe is owned and sold by the CCH organization. PortalSafe, is designed for the needs of the small accounting firms that use the tax products, according to Kerri Gibson, director of product management for SFS.
"They don't have a complex work flow they just need to get in and get it done. They don't need a five-page process," Gibson said during the cloud-based product introduction by the two companies this week in New York. The needs of smaller firms was a reason that SFS did not turn to the portal in the ProSystem fx suite offered by the sister CCH organization, according to SFS marketing director Sandy Zusmann.
PortalSafe offers an audit log to track activities, upload and download notifications, drag-and-drop files and the ability to add notes to files and password protect them. Returns can be printed as PDFs to the CCH tax products and its Paperless Plus document management system. The CCH portal can be accessed via iPhone and Android mobile devices with users able to download apps from the Apple and Android stores.
PortalSafe Professional has a $19.95 per month introductory price that offers 5GB storage, two firm users and up to 150 client portals. At the introductory price of $29.95 per month, the Premium edition has 10GB storage and is available to five firm users and provides unlimited client portals. PremiumPlus at $55.95 monthly has 20GB storage and unlimited firm users and client portals.
