Finalists, who receive two tickets each to attend the conference, will be announced in August. Intuit will provide a videographer and producer for making a video demonstrating what qualifies their firms as a Firm of the Future. Winners will be selected by public voting on each country's contest site from October 3 through 15.
Up to 15 runners-up will receive $2,500 each.
Applicants will be judged by Jim McGinnis, VP of the Intuit Accountant Segment, and others from the company's Small Business Group and Accounting Segment. One finalist will be selected from each participating county. Runners up will be selected based on their embodiment of the transformation from a traditional accounting or bookkeeping firm into a "Firm of the Future".
Entries are being accepted from June 14 noon through July 31 at 11:59 Eastern Time. Firms in the four countries can enter by filling out a registration form from their local Firm of the Future page. Quebec is excluded from the Canadian competition.
Applications must answer questions demonstrating their qualifications. This includes determining the percentage of small business clients who use QuickBooks Online and how use of cloud-based technology benefits them. Firms are also asked to describe their billing model and how they leverage the web, digital marketing and social media. They must also upload a photo that "best exemplifies their firm's future-forward business lifestyle
