Xero is also moving its headquarters on this continent from San Francisco, Calif., to Denver Colo. Taking Fujioka's place is Keri Gohman, who will start in December. Gohman, who has been with Capital One since 2008, was most recently EVP of the banking division of Capital One Small Business, since July 2013.
In an interview with New Zealand website, Stuff, Xero CEO Rod Drury denied his company's management changes are out of the ordinary. But Fujioka's exit follows the February to September 2014 tenure of Xero's North American CEO Peter Karpas. When the company hired Fujioka in February 2015, it named him president of the company's operations in the United States, but did not fill the CEO spot. Fujioka took the title of president of the Americas in February this year.
Xero also said the change signaled a flatter organizational structure with country managers reporting to Drury. Lark's replacement will be chief marketing officer, focusing on global brand and marketing communications, without the additional title of revenue officer.
The formal announcement said the addition of a chief people officer and chief accounting officer have enabled CFO Sankar Narayan "to broaden his focus to drive operational outcomes and revenue globally." Rachel Powell moved into the HR spot in March with Kirsty Godfrey-Billy named chief accounting officer the same month. Both report to Narayan, who joined the company a year ago.
