Twenty-five new members have joined the Taxpayer Advocacy Panel for 2022, the Internal Revenue Service said this week. Also joining the committee are 10 TAP alternatives approved previously. 

Intuit is accepting applications for members of the QuickBooks Accountant Council. The software company will be receiving applications through Friday, May 6.

Tax returns came into the Internal Revenue Service at a slightly improved pace for the season ended March 25. The total was down 4.3 percent for the season through March 24, 2021. That was slightly narrowed from the prior report in that total was off 5.1 percent year-over-year.
