Former Mo Money Preparer Draws Five Years

A franchisee of the former Mo Money tax store chain has been sentence to five years in prison. Teresa Chism is the latest person formerly associated with the chain, which had once more than 300 stores in 13 states, to be convicted for tax return fraud. She continued operating tax businesses after the chain itself was closed.
SmartVault President Moves On

Eric Pulaski, who founded SmartVault, has left his job as CEO. Pulaski has become president of Houston, Texas-based MolecularMatch. In his LinkedIn profile, Pulaski said he was an early investor in the bioinformatics software company.
Shutdown Cut into CBIZ Results

The Federal government shutdown held down revenue for CBIZ for the first quarter ended March 31. That means revenue from many return extensions was pushed into next two quarters while the CBIZ quarter faced comparsion to a strong quarter a year ago, the company said this week.
