Avalara has introduced Avalara Property Tax, which is designed to handle both real and personal property tax management.
The platform includes Avalara Property Tax for Accountants for managing the tax process and valuation so clients pay only the necessary levy, the company said. The product is based on technology from CrowdReason, acquired by Avalara last year,
The indirect tax software company noted all states and the District of Columbia impose taxes on real property with 38 states and D.C. have personal property taxes on movable properties.
The new software enables users to manage all property tax portfolio and compliance activities, from preparing business personal property renditions to handling and processing assessments, appeals, and tax bills.
Avalara said when it purchased, CrowdReason that company’s property tax database included content from more than 20,000 property tax assessors and collectors, including information such as due dates, depreciation tables and mailing addresses,
