Intuit Offering Free Tax Advice Via TurboTax
Intuit is offering taxpayers free advice via TurboTax for 2011. The company says that purchasers of the latest version of its dominant consumer tax preparation package can get advice from professionals via phone or live chat as part of its "Ask a Tax Expert Service." The system also offers tax preparation and filing via the iPad.
The company said that its experts include Enrolled Agents, CPAs and tax attorneys and that they will be available from 5 a.m. through 9 pm Pacific Time. The service is accessible through TurboTax offerings, including desktop, online and mobile versions. Among other features, users can receive updates on their e-file status via text messages and can track the status of their refunds with MyTaxRefund, a free app available for iPhone and Android. Refunds can be received via their TurboTax Prepaid Visa Cards. The applications will be available in January.
