A tax preparer based in Gardena, Calif., has been permanently barred from preparing federal income tax returns and other tax-related documents for others. Simon Jenkins, who operated under the name, Jenkins Tax Service, had already pled guilty to one count of aiding and assisting in the preparation and presentation of false income tax returns.
Jenkins was accused of utilizing false deductions, credits, expenses and claims on refunds for customers for tax years 2004 through 2008. The government estimated the tax loss at $238,024. Jenkins agreed to the life-long ban as part of his plea agreement filed in the criminal case on June 15, 2011
