New Liberty Directors Elected

Andrew M. Laurence, Vintage Capital Management,Five new members of the board of directors have been elected this month by Liberty Tax. The new faces signal the takeover of the tax services company by Vintage Tributum, an affiliate of Vintage Capital Management, which purchased the controlling Liberty shares of founder and former CEO John Hewitt.

The new board is compriseddby Brian R. Kahn, age 44, Vintage’s investment manager; Andrew M. Laurence, age 43, a VCM partner; Matthew Avril, age 57,  a self-employed consultant and member of VCM’s strategic advisory board of VCM; Bryant R. Riley, age 51, CEO and chairman of B. Riley Financial and Kenneth M. Young, age 54, B Riley’s president.

They replace Hewitt, Gordon D’Angelo, Ellen M. McDowell, Nicole Ossenfort and John Seal, who resigned on April 3. However, Ossenfort remains as president and CEO.
