The Internal Revenue Service is combining three advisory committees. The agency said this week the Internal Revenue Service Advisory Council will be expanded to include areas now covered by the Information Reporting Program Advisory Committee and the Advisory Committee on Tax Exempt and Government Entities.

The Internal Revenue Service has added two individuals as members of the Electronic Tax Administration Advisory Committee. The IRS named Lynnette T. Riley and Gene Salo to three-year terms on panel.

The Internal Revenue Service has given taxpayers until midnight April 18 to file taxes. The IRS took the action because of computer outages on Tuesday, morning, April 17, but said it did not impact many taxpayers. Taxpayers do not need to take any action to receive the extension.
