In a 5-4 ruling, the United States Supreme Court opened the door for taxation of all online purchases. While many large retailers already collect taxes for online sales in states in which they do not have a presence, other Internet-based companies were able to escape state levies.

Cloud software company Acumatica has raised $25 million in equity funding. Accel-KKR led the new funding round and will take a seat on the company’s board of directors. An important use of proceeds will be to increase development efforts.

The American Institute of CPAs has launched a new personal financial planning curriculum and what it calls a new pathway to the Personal Financial Specialist credential. The new program has five certificate covering different areas of personal financial planning
