The Liberty Tax Area Developer and Advisory Council has voiced its support for the tax store chain. The vote of confidence follows the termination of CEO and founder John Hewitt in September by the company's board of directors.

Friedman+Huey, an accounting firm based in Homewood, Ill., has received the Taxologist award from Thomson Reuters. The award was given to the firm for what Thomson said was its mastery of, “the use of cloud technology to optimize tax workflow effectivenes"

Automatic Data Processing appears to have overwhelmingly defeated a slate of insurgent board candidates. The payroll company said this week that preliminary results showed 10 directors were re-elected while three Pershing Square nominees drew less than 20 percent of the vote.
