bnalogoblueNet income for the Bureau of National Affairs was down by 1.7 percent as revenue rose by revenue rose by only .8 percent for the 12 weeks ended June 18. The publishing company saw its different segments achieve mixed results as subscription revenue was upslightly but third-party online royalty revenue dropped $1.4 million.

BNA reported net income fell to $8.6 million, down from just under $8.8 million in last year's corresponding period. Revenue rose to $74.5 million in the most recently ended quarter, up from $73.9 million. The company's software operations, which contribute a disproportinate share of operating income, had revenue of just under $7.4 million, an increase of 1.8 percent from $7.3 million a year earlier.

 

The bulk of revenue comes from its legal, tax and regulatory operations, which has just over $58 million in revenue, virtually unchanged from a year earlier.
