Drake Software plans a special push to introduce the products of recently acquired Copanion to its installed base. It will also leave the maker of the Gruntworx line in operation as a separate company at its Andover, Mass.-based headquarters.

"We plan to introduce its products in big way to the Drake customer," says John Sapp, Drake's VP of strategic development. Both companies are privately held and terms were not disclosed. Sapp says Franklin, N.C.-based Drake will be able to provide resources in developing and marketing the Copanion line.

GruntWorks software includes products that gather and organize tax documents and import data from scanned documents into tax returns.
