Sage North America has allied with the Business Learning Institute, an affiliate of the Maryland Association of CPAs, to provide courses for accountants. The new curriculum is marketed as The Competitive Edge for Accounting Professionals: Value Beyond Tax and Compliance Services.

The curriculum will be delivered through methods such as in-person seminars and  workshops both Sage and BLI. The "Vision" workshops are hands-on, interactive sessions for guiding  accounting professionals through steps  "to create an actionable vision and strategy to help accounting professionals get closer to their clients, based on insights from past, present and future profession trends," according to the official announcement.

"We have 41 different courses that we will be taking to market beginning in October," says Jennifer Warawa, VP of partner programs and channel sales.  Courses are eligible for Continuing Professional Education credits. The education effort is aimed to help firms change their business model.

The workshops begin this week during Sage workshops. Warawa says the session attracted firms of all sizes.
