AccountEdge Pro 2013 for Mac and Windows sports a new document management feature that lets the user attach files to records, including documents, images and scans. Any type of file can be attached to a transaction and AccountEdge makes the document image available for later viewing. The retainers feature has received an update and can now link bank accounts, which allows the user to write checks directly from their retainer, escrow and trust accounts, as well as transfer funds into and out of accounts. An improved bank statement import streamlines the reconciliation process with a new "worksheet" acting as a middle-man between import and reconciliation to improve the workflow of dealing with bank statements. Rules can also be created to look for and match transactions.

Among other new features are Change Orders, which can track changes in estimates and store notes about why a change was made. The system can print last year's payroll forms in the New Year so that W2s and 1099s can be printed without having to open a backup. It also offers new reports for time billers: Bill Rate Level Summary and Detail and Card Detail.
