Vertex SMB has developed a connector for QuickBooks that will enable QuickBooks users to utilize the Vertex SMB sales-and-use tax platform. The connector gives users the ability to perform calculations on invoices, look up tax rates, prepare and file returns, and maintain product taxability and compliance across multiple jurisdictions and states.

The Taxpayer Advocate Service has developed several tools to assist individuals and employers in estimating Affordable Care Act related credits and payments. The service, which operates as an independent organization within the Internal Revenue Service, cautions these tools provide estimates and should be used as a guide in making decisions regarding tax situations.

Bob Scott, editor of The Progressive Accountant, sits down with Matt Donaldson, the head of accounting and CPA partnerships at Expensify, to discuss that company’s mobile and desktop apps that simplify employee expense reporting while providing a better means for companies to track company cards and reimburse employees.
