Thomson Names Strategic VP for Tax and Accounting
NEW YORK - Thomson Reuters has named Taneli Ruda, most recently a VP at mobile phone vendor Nokia, as SVP of strategy for the company's Tax & Accounting business, a newly created position. Ruda's appointment comes at a time that the company has been expanding globally with products such as Checkpoint Learning and the OneSource Global Tax Workstation.
Ruda's job is to work with all parts of the tax and accounting operations to lead development of functional and geographic strategy and to spur growth. He was most recently VP of strategy development for troubled Nokia, which just hired Microsoft executive, Steven Elop, as its CEO. Before he joined Nokia in 2004, Ruda spent seven years withThe Boston Consulting Group in Stockholm, Sweden, and Helsinki, Finland.
