Sage is putting new life into the Business Partner Alliance Program, which is designed to promote programs that bring accountants and value-added resellers together. It's a program that has been dormant for a few years. "We haven’t been actively pursuing new connections between the VAR and the CPAs," said Jennifer Warawa, the senior director for partner programs for Sage North America.
Warawa says Sage is not changing the program, simply putting more effort into it, which means offering educational programs. Her group is working with Tom Miller, Sage's VP of channel management, who is responsible for reseller programs.
Meanwhile, Sage has been segmenting its Sage Accountants Network. It most recently announced a specialized program for accountants serving nonprofit clients. But it is also developing special features for those serving the construction and real estate market. It is also developing features for accountants that serve midmarket clients. The construction/real estate offerings are scheduling to reach the market this month.
