AICPA Fields New Forensics Certificate

AICPA LogoThe American Institute of CPAs has launched the Forensics Accounting Educational Certificate  with a course of study designed for members that want to expand their knowledge of forensic accounting. The courses lay the foundation for certificate holdings to obtain the AICPA's Certified in Financial Forensics credential.

The AICPA cited research that shows that revenue in forensic accounting is expected to grow 6.8 percent annually from 2012 to 2017 in meeting the demand for forensic services during that period..

 

The FAE courses cover areas such as bankruptcy and insolvency, computer forensic analysis, family law, economic damages, valuations, and fraud prevention. Participants in course work will learn best practices for producing work products that will withstand scrutiny in a courtroom, boardroom or other administrative venue; a fundamental forensic knowledge pertaining to laws, courts and dispute resolution; planning and preparation requirements for a variety of forensic engagements and basic federal and state rules of evidence.

The FAE Certificate satisfies a portion of the pre or post-credential education need for the CFF credential and the CPE earned can be used to partially satisfy the 75 hours of CPE related to the CFF Body of Knowledge needed to apply for the CFF credential.The FAE program can be completed by taking 20 CPE credits.
