RSM McGladrey Serves Notice to M&P - Nicely
Saying that it's still willing to talk, RSM McGladrey returned serve on McGladrey & Pullen by providing a notice of termination of the administrative services agreement between the two parties, in response to M&P's giving RSM McGladrey a termination notice on July 21. RSM's notice is effective 210 days after M&P's receipt of it.
A letter, signed by C. E. Andrews, president of RSM McGladrey, said that "This notice should not in any way be construed as unwillingness on our part to continue discussions on developing a way for our two organizations to work together going forward, which continues to be RSM's preference." The notice followed statements during an earnings conference call last week in which H&R Block CEO Russ Smyth said his company, which owns RSM McGladrey, is continuing efforts to maintain a 10-year old agreement under which M&P and Block's RSM McGladrey jointly service clients,
