Morken, who is responsible for Intuit's professional tax applications, noted accountants utilize separate applications for tax preparation, accounting and practice management.
"We are going to provide one single place that they can serve their clients across their accounting, tax, consumer, self employed and small business in a single seamless, integrated experience," Morken said.
Intuit has been moving to unify the structure of the organizations that market to professional tax and accounting organizations and has made some significant personnel moves recently.
In the last month, Matt Rhodes, who served as director of investor relations for six years, became CFO of the ProConnect Group, which develops and markets Lacerte, ProSeries and ProConnect Online. Early in Septmber, it also transferred Jim McGinnis from his position as VP of the accountant segment to become VP of product development for the professional tax group.
Intuit is adjusting its pricing strategy as part of the process. CEO Brad Smith had previously said Intuit would forego regular price increases for its professional tax products. Morken's comment during Investor's Day refined that to "We are going to have smaller price increases". Smith also said price increases would be built into the accounting products, but Morken emphazied QuickBooks Accountant Online will remain free.
On the tax side, "We will see lower revenue growth," Morken said. However, Intuit wants to grow professional market share and get the category growing again.
