Vertex Names Executives

Vertex, which makes indirect tax software, has named three executives. These include Kate Shields as a chief customer officer, Paul Guyer as European general manager and Uwe Sydon as global head of product management.

Shields, who joined Vertex in September 2013, served as head of the company’s cloud business unit since February 2018.

Guyer  was VP of sales for EMEA for Avalara from March 2016 through April this year. He joined  Avalara after working for Thomson Reuters, where he worked for four years and seven months. He was senior manager of enterprise sales for EMEA from September 2014 through August 2014.

Sydon was previously SVP and global innovation officer for Checkpoint Systems from May 2014 through December 2017.
