Two Florida businesses have been barred from preparing federal tax returns for others and have been ordered to disgorge $710,191.55. The court also entered a default judgment barring Lenorris Lamoute and Dosuld Pierre, who prepared returns for Advanced Tax Services, prohibiting them from being in the business.
Advanced Tax and Genson Financial Group were the two corporations and the court had previously barred Marcgenson Marc, who owned them, along with Tiana Character and Character’s business, Character Financial Solutions LLC, and Shirleen Thales. Marc was ordered to disgorge $710,191.55.
The preparers were found to have made phony claims for the Earned Income Tax Credit, using such techniques as on fabricated business income and expenses, bogus or improperly claimed dependents, and false filing status, along with reporting non-existent Schedule A business, false itemized deductions, false or fraudulent fuel tax credits, and bogus education expenses.
