George Koutouras, a former Big Four CPA and long-time author for BNA, has joined Moss Adams as a partner in its transaction services group. He serves the western tax market for the United States from the firm's offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
Koutouras is also an adjunct professor at Golden Gate University and has been an author for BNA since February 2002. He was managing director at Alvarez and Marsal from 2008 through April 2012. He was senior director of transactional tax for PricewaterhouseCoopers from May 2005 through September 2008 and senior manager for the western national office of Ernst & Young from November 2000 through April 2005.
Koutouras has advised large multinationals and private equity clients on taxation of corporate life-cycle events such as acquisitions, integrations, dispositions, reorganizations, spin-offs, distributions and public offerings. At Moss Adams, he serves as a subject matter advisor to the corporate transaction tax practice. Koutouras has developed a core competency in taxation of reorganizations, consolidated groups of corporations and cross border transactions, including taxation of changes in supply chain, intellectual property and global expansion.
