Ochs has been CEO of H.D. Vest Financial Services since 1999 and has worked for the organization since 1987. Blucora acquired H.D. Vest late in 2015 for $580 million. H.D. Vest provides financial planning services through a network of agents.
Oros was most recently EVP and head of the Registered Investment Advisors segment at Fidelity Clearing and Custody Solutions.
He receives a base salary of $375,000 annually and a target bonus of 100 percent of salary. He was also granted restricted stock units worth $450,000 and $1,050,000 in a nonqualified stock option that vests in stages through Feb. 28, 2020. The company will also pay Oros up to $525,000 reimbursement for relocation, commuting and related expanses and up to $250,000 in unpaid bonuses and compensation forfeited when he left his prior employer.
Ochs will served as a transition advisor from February 28 through March 31.
Before joining TaxAct, Baskaran served as general manager, North America Credit Cards at Amazon, a job he began in January 2015. From October 2013 through June 2015, he was VP of North America Analytics for Visa. He joined Visa in May 2011.
He will receive a base salary of $350,000, a grant of $750,000 in restricted stock units and a signing bonus of $210,000. The company will also pay relocation expenses of up to $150,000, up to $70,000 for costs involved in the sale of his current home and purchase of a new one and up to $30,000 for packing and relocating personal possessions to the Dallas, Texas, area.
