Cloud software vendor Xero has awarded three $10,000 scholarships to college students in the United States. The financial awards are the first given under the Forward Fund program.
The winners were Jimhua Johnson of the University of Washington; Brody Mandelbaum of the University of Florida; and Mwaka Namfukwe of the University of Florida. The money is to be applied to tuition or other costs of their pursing their degrees.
Each of the students was nominated by a Xero partner and each of those will receive $10,000 in co-op funds. Those accounting and bookkeeping firms are The QuickSource, founded by Shelly Robbins; Bookkeeper Buddy, founded by Mick Lindquist; and Cloud Accounting and Consulting, founded by Stephanie Hoyt.

He has a strong background in computer journalism as an editor with two former trade publications, Computer+Software News and MIS Week and spent several years with weekly and daily newspapers in Morris County New Jersey prior to that.
