Units in Canada dropped by 2 percent for the most recently ended year. But the company reported total consumer revenue of $3.56 million for fiscal 2022, an increase of 9.9 percent over the prior year.
According to remarks CEO Sasan Goodarzi in this month’s earnings webcast, Intuit grew the average revenue per return and also increased consumer market share. The company did not disclose the sie of the change in market share.
There were 42.7 million TurboTax units sold in the most recently ended year, compared to 42.5 million in fiscal 2021. There were 37.9 online units in the U.S. sold last year, up from 37.7 million. Desktop units in this country fell to 4.7 million from 4.8 million, Canadian units dropped to 3.5 million to 3.6 million.
ProConnect revenue rose 6 percent to $546 million from $517 million. Those figures reflect sales of the ProConnect Online, Lacerte and ProSeries professional tax preparation products. Intuit does not break out the number of professional tax units sold.
