Preparer Now Four-time Offender

PilloryAn Oakland County, Mich., tax preparer has lead to 10 felonies as a four-time offender.  Lori Bradford, 55, admit to preparing fake W-2s to thwart an investigation by the Michigan Department of Revenue.

Bradford typically inflated withholding amounts on individual’s tax returns to boost refunds. Besides using false W-2s, she also prepared other fake documentation to verify accuracy of return accuracy.

Bradford pled guilty to four counts of uttering and publishing; three counts of using a computer to commit a crime; and three counts of making/permitting false tax returns.
