The Internal Revenue Service has made several enhancement to Tax Pro Account. These include helping practitioners manage their active client authorizations on file with the Centralized Authorization File database.
This includes the ability to send Power of Attorney and Tax Information Authorization requests directly to a taxpayer’s individual IRS Online Account. One a taxpayer has approved such requests, the authorization records are save immediately to the CAF database, Tax professionals must have a CAF number to use a Tax Pro Account;
Other enhancements enables tax professionals to view a client’s tax information, including balance due amounts. Tax Pro Account users can now also withdraw from active authorizations online in real time.
