Thomson Reuters has introduced Checkpoint Edge with CoCounsel, a chabot assistant which adds GenAI capabilities to tax research.
Tax professionals can conduct research by asking CoCounsel questions in everyday language. The chat interface means research can be conducted by users of all skill levels by synthesizing answers from pertinent sources. Answers include links to Checkpoint Edge editorial content and source materials.
Nancy Hawkins, Thomson’s VP of product management, research, pointed to accountants lacking legal training to interpret legislation while the profession’s workforce is shrinking.
