PTIN Renewal Season Delayed

IRSEven with a deal in place to avoid a debt default by the united States, the PTIN renewal season has been delayed. The Internal Revenue Service had announced the delay prior to the agreement reached today by the U.S. Congress to end its arguing, at least for the moment, over the debt limit

The IRS said all holders of the Preparer Tax Identification Number will receive an email or letter informing them of when the renewal season will begin. The online PTIN system is still available for users to log in and view or change information or to secure a PTIN for 2013.
